I recently purchased a B68 for my Giant Cypress. Have been putting on 10 miles everyday and 25 miles per day on weekends...trying to stay fit....well...I was surprised by how comfortable the B68 was from the start. Although I have only put 35 miles on the saddle..I am very pleased..The shape of the saddle permits a better pedaling stroke (for me) and eliminates the pain in the inner groin/ thigh area. Besides the comfort,, the look also is a classic and goes well with the set up of my bike. I would recommend a Brooks saddle to any bile enthusiast, it's well worth the money. My name is Max Knight. I'm a 23 year old artist from London. Bicycles and art are passions of mine and it’s nice to find a way to combine them. I've been making strange bicycles for a few years now and there is nothing I love doing more. I welded together my tallbike from a couple of scrapped bikes. It’s good fun to ride around London. I think Brooks saddles are cool, and my girlfriend’s bum looks great sitting on one! The Barbican Bag that they make is great, it fits my angle grinder in it with some other tools!
Dear Sirs, I am writing to let you know how very pleased I am with a B66 saddle that I bought yesterday. I had a Raleigh Superbe cycle in 1952 fitted with an identical saddle and it is fascinating to find that the quality of the new one is exactly as I remember the earlier one. Even the box and the enclosed leaflets are works of art. I had no idea that you still made such a range of traditional cycle accessories - my next purchase is likely to be a Millbrook Holdall. Also, you are to be congratulated on your excellent website where I have just spent a very enjoyable half-hour. With Thanks, Yours faithfully, Tony
Hello Everybody, I am so satisfied with my BROOKS. I am planning a trip from Holland to Southern French sponsored by BEIXO. Of course I need a good saddle so I tried every saddle there was on the market, but left the BROOKS on the shelf. Just couldn' t believe that this relative cheap and hard leather saddle can save me from my bottom and knee pain that I have during training. After I tried almost every hightech gel and....... saddles, I just end by the BROOKS. I thought OK lets try it there is no options left. And what do you think happens? I think I don' t have to tell that. My pain was gone from the moment I sat on this old mirakel. Just want to say thanks and watch my track on www.beixo.com Best regards Servan Schreiber
As I've advanced in years so has my waistline so looking for a form of low impact aerobic exercise I decided to take up bicycling. So I purchased a mid priced bike and immediately had to replace the horrible seat. Two seats later I still found myself in agony after thirty minutes or so. I owned a bike with a Brooks seat when I was in High School some 30 odd years ago so having having already wasted money on three seats I figured what the heck. I purchased a B68 and the first time out I rode for over an hour with very little discomfort. I wish I had bought it two seats ago! Thanks for continuing to make such a great product!
I got a Brooks B67 saddle a few weeks ago and I must say that I am loving it! I have had no end of problems trying to get a saddle that suited my backside. The saddle that came on my last bike actually caused me a pelvic sprain by pushing my seat-bones apart! I tried those GEL saddles. They are okay if you are only going to ride for about 20 minutes. My bicycle is made for commuting AND long-distance touring. Only a few weeks after using the B67, my backside was singing because no more was I suffering from pressure in the softer parts of my nether regions, and the springs just ironed out all the annoying little bumps and jolts in the road. I am looking forward to a long-distance tour on my new B67. It is really quite astonishing how comfortable they are! My friends poke it with their fingers and say that it is hard and can't be comfortable, but I tell them that I happily spend all day riding with it under my backside. I run my bicycle lock through the frame of the saddle because I don't want it stolen. Thieves can have the rest of my bicycle - I want to keep that saddle!
I have recently purchased a Vanmoof bicycle because they look really cool and perform beautifully in all situations. I was gobsmacked when I unpacked my cycle to find that it came with a Brooks B68 as standard. The seat is wonderful, it fits my bum and even after a 20 year break from cycling I feel no pain nor discomfort. It is an absolute pleasure to use and I'm so pleased that quality products such as Brooks are still available. I was asked by a friend last week did my (unusual) bike attract much attention, yes it does, even more so when they see my Brooks B68!
Hi, I was always very content with my Brooks which I bought from a friend about ten Years ago until this morning on my way to work through a snowstorm the Metal under the leather cover broke. Can you repair it?
answer - All Brooks saddles may be repaired, please visit the Getting in Touch section of this website!
Q > I recently bought a Pilen Swedish Classic bike. It rolls silently and like a dream, however, the B66 saddle makes a lot of noise during riding, probably coming from the springs and suspension. Is this normal and acceptable?
A > Some squeaking can happen. It is normally due to the rubbing between the leather top and the metal parts, either on the nose or on the back plate. Try to put some Proofide where you believe the squeaking is coming from.
The Classic range includes many of our best selling models for the modern cyclist, since all saddles have single rails and are thus compatible with micro-adjust seat posts. The B17 is the most popular saddle in the BROOKS Classic range. It is certainly the oldest Brooks model and longest living saddle in cycling history. This icon has been sold as far back as 1896 and for over a century never went out of production. Most of these models are available also in the Aged and Imperial lines.
