Width: 153mm Length: 287mm Weight: 370g The Swallow 2005 Limited Edition has been faithfully recreated utilizing the original patent books and has been stitched by hand, in time honoured fashion. The first Swallow was patented on 20th August 1936, a time when all Tour de France riders used Brooks saddles. The first 2005 limited edition of 999 pieces is sold out.
The best Seat in the world!!! I have Nr. 667, "the Neighbor of the Beast". Thank You Brooks and Gräber Räder Hamburg. Best Regards, Thomas
Having employed the B15 Swallow Titanium on my 1963 Legnano Gran Premio for four years now, I can attest to the quality, durability and comfort, for rides long and short, fast or leisurely. For my anatomy, it is as perfect while wearing jeans as in "cycling shorts" - no chamois is required. Thank you!
Fantastic, simply fantastic! My first Brooks and most comfortable saddle ever. Thanks for such a great product.
I've had my Brooks Ti B15 for a couple of years and could never seem to give it a chance to break in. After a couple of rides, I would always swap back to my light racing saddle. I stuck the B15 on the wall and forgot about it. Then I purchased a single speed and needed a saddle. My first ride was a muddy race in rain and it seemed to do the trick. Now its the most comportable saddle I have ever used. I'm going to order one for each bike!
COMMENT > This is by far my favorite saddle I own. I have number 917 and have retained the original box and certificate which is signed by the saddlemaker Robin Coleman. However, mine has rails of titanium and it appears the saddle in the photo does not. Where there two versions of this saddle released? I have it mounted on an Austro-Daimler Inter10 in Burgundy and Gold and this high-quality saddle makes the bike look fabulous.
REPLY > Both hand stitched Limited Edition Swallows have only been made in Titanium.
My swallow at neary 4 years old is still new I suppose. Though, the 'fit' is now such that no 'modern' saddle is able to match. Its very hard to describe just how comfortable a broken in saddle of this quality feels. In some ways I wish they were more readily available but then again, its just a little bit more special that they are'nt! In this day and age I imagine my Swallow Ltd Edition is my fastest appreciating asset! Its certainly more valuable than the frame of my race bike!
Q - Will these saddles ever be available again? This is the most beautiful looking saddle I have ever seen. A - For the moment we don't have any plans of making a new limited edition.
My 2005 Swallow is sadly boxed in a shipping container in Sydney awaiting Europe to work out for us. In the meantime I have almost sourced myself the 2007 Limited Edition for my European days. The workmanship in these Editions is incredible. A great, GREAT, saddle, the Swallow deserves extensive break in before it fits. Great to see it has been released as a running model in the Brooks range.
Spanning more than a century of history we have preserved some models which are unique in their construction. Each saddle in this range needs a different workmanship or frame construction which is specific to that particular model, making it Unique. Most of the models have a double or triple rail construction, like the B66, our most popular model in the Brooks Unique range, dating back as early as 1927. The Swallow has single rails, but a very peculiar construction of the leather top.
